The Israeli advertising company Discover-Tech used online ads to track hundreds of millions of internet users, monitor their activities, and help install spyware on their devices, according to researchers at the Citizen Lab and the Center for Security and Privacy. The ads appeared on more than 120,000 websites and 75,000 apps, including networks used by the Pentagon, NATO, the UN, and the European Commission. Researchers said that the Palestinian territories were especially targeted, while spyware related to Israel's Kandir impacted 45 devices in Algiers between 2024 and 2025. Google and Comcast removed Discover-Tech from their advertising platforms, while IAB Europe sanctioned the company. Source: Reuters.
