Netanyahu's advisor, Yonatan Urich, is threatening lawsuits after his WhatsApp messages were allegedly leaked two weeks before the Israeli elections.
Urich connected his personal WhatsApp to Ultramsg, a UAE-based automation service, giving him full, unencrypted access to his messages—discovered when he posted source code for an artificial intelligence media monitoring tool (built on Cloud) on GitHub, exposing phone numbers and access tokens.
Now chats with political figures, journalists and advisers circulate on Telegram and on a dedicated website.
Urich's lawyers say that whoever "hacked into his WhatsApp, published personal correspondence and added or changed the chats will pay the full price" and that sharing them is a criminal offense.
