Western intelligence agencies have warned that Russia is stepping up assassination plots against senior European defense officials as part of a wider campaign of sabotage aimed at weakening support for Ukraine.
Officials from five European intelligence agencies said senior executives, particularly those involved in drone production, were being targeted by Russian operatives.
Russia's military intelligence agency, the GRU, is reportedly working more closely with organized crime groups and cross-border networks to plan attacks and monitor potential targets.
Some defense companies have increased security for their executives, while others have moved production sites because of Russian threats.
