US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle bragged about luxury trips financed by Greek businessmen, according to an audio recording.
In Davos in January, Guilfoyle said she flew on a private plane with Alexandros Exarcho, CEO of Actor Group, whose business interests she promoted to foreign governments. She also described traveling with shipping tycoon Nicolas Tesco, who reportedly paid for her stay at a luxury hotel in Paris.
The recording also captured Gilfoyle angrily demanding an invitation to a dinner featuring Eric Trump and promising an American businessman she could make "a lot of money" from him.
The revelations follow allegations that Guilfoyle asked a Trump donor for $100,000 to cover credit card expenses in exchange for help with legal and tax issues. The State Department's inspector general is investigating whether she received improper gifts or favors, as Trump administration officials discuss her possible impeachment.
