Reuters documented 28 cases of injuries related to the police force, including a 14-year-old whose jaw was broken by a tear gas grenade, a 15-year-old who lost his hand and two people who suffered eye injuries.

The police watchdog is investigating 24 cases, while authorities have arrested 6,877 people, most of them minors.

About 200 students and 700 police officers were injured during the unrest.
