Arizona Democratic congressional candidate Bernadette Greene-Placentia says she was raped this summer while trying to fix a campaign sign in a Sun City parking lot.

She reported that she was hit in the head, lost consciousness and woke up during the attack, then suffered bruising, bleeding and what she believed to be a concussion.

Green-Placentia reported the rape to police two weeks later and says she is continuing her campaign by speaking out to encourage other sexual assault victims to come forward.
