The Trump administration has refused to invite OSCE observers to the 2026 midterms, ending more than two decades of international monitoring of US federal elections.
The OSCE has observed every US federal election since 2002.
Its inspectors have no enforcement powers and only watch the polls and report on how the elections were conducted.
