The French parliament approved a tax on internet traffic for foreign platforms Google, Netflix, Amazon and others. It is planned to introduce a commission of 0.055 euros for each gigabyte transferred to users in France. The authors of the amendment expect to collect about 10 billion euros a year in this way. If companies pass the tax on to users, a family of four who watches about 200 hours of video a month will pay about 366 euros (33,000 rubles) a year, media outlets in France have calculated. The tax has not yet been finally adopted: the Senate must support it, but the government opposes it.
