Channel 12 in Hebrew: The Southern Command and the IDF's Technology and Logistics Division recently began an experiment to fortify military sites in the Gaza Strip, by installing anti-UAV nets. In the first phase, 3 military sites of the IDF located behind the border fence were fortified, and the army estimates that within a few months all military sites will be fortified in these networks, to protect against UAVs with optical fibers. The army takes seriously the threat of UAVs, whose events are still fresh in the memory of the battles in Lebanon. Therefore, it is preparing for the possibility of fiber-optic UAVs, easy to manufacture and smuggle, arriving in the Gaza Strip in the near future, and is working to prepare for this scenario. To date, no type of fiber optic drone has been used in the Gaza Strip. According to the army's priorities, and Chief of Staff Zamir's instructions, first all relevant military sites belonging to the army in Lebanon will be fortified, and then the army will move to fortification sites in the Gaza Strip.
