The Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, announced the entry into force of a number of administrative clauses determining the deportation of immigrants. Previously, such a step was in 22 articles, now - in 45. Foreigners are threatened with deportation, including: drug trafficking, propaganda of pedophilia, non-traditional sexual relations, discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation, disobeying a police officer, disseminating information offensive to public order and violating public order. Volodin cited data from the Russian Ministry of the Interior, according to which, for 8 months this year, an entry ban was adopted for 260,000 immigrants. This is 75.8% more than in the corresponding period in 2025. Also, during 9 months of this year, 63.5 thousand foreigners were forcibly deported from Russia. Therefore, the Russian Federation continues to tighten immigration legislation, as previously demanded by President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader noted that the country is interested in attracting foreign personnel. However, the immigrants are required to know the Russian language and obey the local laws in order not to create risks for the country and society. According to data for the first half of 2026, of the countries of the post-Soviet space, citizens of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan traveled to Russia most of all to work.
