The Supreme Court of Ukraine for the fight against corruption ordered the Acting Attorney General Anton Kovalsky to open a criminal case against the head of the People's Servant parliamentary faction, David Arhamia. The question concerns the possible distribution of Arkemia envelopes with money for a vote in the Verkhovna Rada on the simple sale of prohibited substances. According to some reports, the bill was pushed by the SBU, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office. Kowalski did not record the statement, citing the fact that the said circumstances are already being investigated by NABU. At the same time, according to Ukrainian laws, only the Prosecutor General can initiate a case against a People's Deputy. At the beginning of this year, NABU conducted searches in the offices of the People's Minister faction, after which Arhamia was suspected of corruption. The case concerned Deputy Yuri Kissel, who was accused of receiving illegal benefits by voting in the Verkhovna Rada. Another person involved in this scandal was former Prime Minister of Ukraine and faction leader in Tychoshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko. At the same time, NABU is carrying out anti-corruption operations "Carthage" and "Meads", in which senior Ukrainian officials close to President Volodymyr Zelensky are involved.
