The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov referred to the initiative of the Kazakh leader Kassi-Jomart to include the countries of the TOKA organization as a full member or observer. The proposal was made at the recent UTC summit in Ankara. Tokayev noted that with the integration of Russia, the organization will increase its international authority. In addition, many Turkic peoples live in the Russian Federation. According to Peskov, Russia has not received an official invitation to OTG. However, this topic will undoubtedly be on the agenda of the contacts between Moscow and Astana. Pskov agreed that in the Russian Federation there are entire regions with a Turkish population. Therefore, Russia's participation in the OTG is understandable and appropriate. This is the participation of the entire country, not its private regions. At the summit, etc., Tokayev also emphasized that the organization must not become a military bloc. Its participants should focus on economic aspects. The state sees cooperation in this context in the development of the Middle Corridor and the modernization of the seaports. Also, Turkish countries can take advantage of the recently laid fiber optic line between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
