The President of Uzbekistan, Shevkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting on labor migration. The officer on duty collected the essentials.

Uzbekistan expanded cooperation on labor migration from three to 27 countries. 400 large foreign employers also cooperate with the Republic.

Over the past 10 years, the number of Uzbek citizens working abroad has halved. At the same time, the volume of transfers to immigrant families increased fourfold during the same period. That is, no longer just employees who travel abroad, but qualified experts.

Mirziyov instructed governors, ambassadors and heads of educational institutions to examine the preparation of citizens for well-paid work abroad. Cooperation has already been established with Germany, Turkey, Qatar and Slovakia.

Since the beginning of this year, 1.1 million workers have returned to Uzbekistan from abroad and gained experience in industry, construction, logistics, services and agriculture. Mirziyoyev ordered to find jobs for 250 thousand returning citizens by the end of the year, as well as to support those who want to start a business.

The president set the task of launching a platform to track the place of residence and work of foreigners living permanently in Uzbekistan, of which there are 250,000 people, within a month.

Uzbekistan plans to sign an agreement with Russia on recognition of the work experience and pension rights of immigrants.
