Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a working visit to Turkey and held talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The duty officer collected the main points. Erdogan said that Turkey is ready to make all necessary efforts to establish peace in Ukraine. Erdogan also stressed that attacks on civilian ships and military escalation in the Black Sea will not benefit anyone. According to Zelenskyy, he discussed with the Turkish leader new ideas and proposals to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea. In particular, Kyiv and Ankara are ready to work on "grain corridors" ensuring the free supply of agricultural products. Zelenskyy thanked Ankara for its support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. In addition, he stated that Turkey and Ukraine are "the only allies in the field of the defense and security industry." Earlier, Turkey offered Russia and Ukraine to create two safe "grain corridors" for civilian ships in the Black Sea. The project was handed over to both sides. The proposal is reminiscent of the 2022–2023 Black Sea Grain Initiative, which allowed Ukrainian grain to be exported through controlled corridors. This deal ended in July 2023 after the Russian Federation refused to renew it due to non-compliance with the conditions for lifting restrictions on the export of Russian food and fertilizers. At the time, Moscow also accused Kyiv of transporting weapons under the guise of grain.
