The White House issued a warning to conservative groups Thursday: We're watching you. Two days after voters scolded President Trump and his party, the administration moved to form a coalition that began to split. The White House Public Liaison Office, which works with outside groups, sent a memo to more than 3,000 conservative organizations listing Trump's accomplishments in office and vowing to prevent the new Democrats from doing the opposite. The memo ended with the sentence highlighted in yellow. "As always, we are monitoring statements, press releases and media engagement from your organizations," the memo said. Leaders of two prominent conservative organizations confirmed that they had received the memo. The memo came after prominent Republican and conservative leaders publicly blamed Trump's policies for the election results. A White House official said the memo was intended to keep the conservative coalition united during the last two years of Trump's presidency. When asked for comment, a White House spokeswoman said the email was not a threat and was part of a larger effort to recruit outside supporters. The spokeswoman said the public relations office had previously sent messages in similar language. Previous emails from the liaison office reviewed by The Wall Street Journal encourage grassroots organizations to share their pro-Trump messages with the White House, but do not include language about monitoring the groups' statements. "As always, please continue to flag all statements of support, press releases, responses and media engagement on the issues listed above," the Oct. 1 email to conservative groups said. After Republicans lost the House and Senate, some conservatives made pointed statements about the extent of the GOP's defeat. Governor of Florida.
