President Abelardo de la Esperia has announced that he will intensify military, police and intelligence operations against armed gangs, until their organizational structures, financial sources and weapons smuggling routes are completely dismantled. According to him, any attack will trigger an increased response, and he pledged to pursue those responsible for violence against the security forces and civilians.
