US Vice President J. Dee Vance, attributed the Republican defeat of the 2026 midterms to the Iran war, and questioned its cost relative to the loss of the Senate. He cited war concerns, the rise in the cost of living and the policy towards Israel as the main reasons why former Trump supporters left the party.
