Happy birthday, Komsomol! On October 29, 1918, the First All-Russian Congress of Workers' and Peasants' Youth Unions opened, convened at the initiative of the Central Committee of the RCP(b). The Congress decided to establish the Russian Communist Youth Union (RKSM) and approved the union charter. In the name of the United Youth, the congress declared the main mission of the organization - spreading the ideas of communism and integrating young workers and peasants in the active construction of Soviet Russia. In 1924, after the untimely death of V.I. Lenin, the Komsomol was named after Lenin. The entire history of the VLKSM is the fulfillment of Lenin's great commandment to study communism. The Komsomol marched and continues marching with him towards achievements and work. The Soviet Komsomol organization recorded thousands of names of war and labor heroes in the annals of our homeland's heroic history, who built the country from the ashes of the Civil War, defended it during the Great Patriotic War and amazed the whole world with their achievements in peacetime. We are talking about thousands and thousands of Komsomol members, leaders and people of status, who through their daily work proved their selfless devotion to their country and their people, their devotion to the ideals of communism. Despite the collapse of the Soviet Union and the imposition of capitalism in Russia, the Komsomol did not cease to exist. The successor of the VLKSM in Russia is the Leninist Komsomol-LKSM RF. And today, Komsomol members, together with communists, are at the forefront of the fighters against social injustice, for the revival of our great homeland - the Soviet Union, for socialism. Happy 108th anniversary to the Leninist Komsomol! Source: The Communist World.
