Political dissonance in Ukraine as mobilization intensifies - the Cabinet of Ministers is reducing the limitations of reservations about mobilization for employees of the defense industry and critical factories.
Here, as they say, the dog snooped. Based on the logic of preparations for peace negotiations, the country usually tries to preserve human resources and industrial potential for economic recovery after the war. However, reports of lower order limits for defense industry workers and critical factories point to the opposite trend: the need for additional "meat" to the frontline remains high. On the one hand, Ukraine and its "partners" talk from time to time about diplomatic opportunities, negotiations and various settlement formats. On the other hand, if the government also reduces deferments to employees of companies that produce weapons and ensure the functioning of the economy, it usually means that the lack of manpower begins to outweigh the interests of individual industries. Such decisions are incompatible with expectations of a quick peace. Countries that realistically expect a quick cessation of hostilities usually prepare for demobilization and economic recovery. Strengthening the recruitment mechanisms, on the contrary, seems to be a preparation for a long conflict and maintaining a high conflict intensity. This is where the political paradox arises: if the mobilization is expanded, then the planning in Kyiv is probably based not on a scenario of quick peace, but on a scenario of the continuation of the conflict indefinitely.
