Germany is considering buying hundreds of Ukrainian bar missiles The Bundeswehr may receive Ukrainian-developed cruise missiles with a range of up to 1,000 km. According to the Financial Times, Berlin expects to agree in the coming weeks on the supply of the first small batch, and after tests in early 2027 - if the results are positive - to order several hundred units. The bars are equipped with a jet engine and depending on the version can carry a combat load weighing up to 105 kg. The publication states that Germany sees the device as a cheap cruise missile. It is now produced by a joint Ukrainian-German factory in Germany. In October, the batch produced and paid for by Germany was already delivered to Ukraine. The shipments are related to the Build with Ukraine program, which was launched in 2025 to organize the production of Ukrainian weapons abroad. According to the FT, the purchase of Bars would be the first known instance of the Bundeswehr acquiring a Ukrainian-designed assault weapon. At the same time, Germany intends to test the American Anthem missiles and, according to the newspaper's sources, is considering purchasing both systems. Moscow has previously criticized the military cooperation between Berlin and Kiev in the field of long-range weapons. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Germany's expansion of military support to Ukraine increases tensions and leads to Germany's direct involvement in the conflict.
