Tobacco assets converge in Japan Tobacco Inc. transferred under temporary management. The President's decree was published - the buildings were transferred to JSC "Industrial Properties". What are the consequences? The order transfers the JTI shares in Don tobacco, Perslavl tobacco, JTI Elets, Cres Neva and Petro. These are cigarette brands such as Winston, Sobri, Glamor, LD, Russian Style, Peter I, Troika. JTI has been operating in Russia since 1999, a third of the company owned by the unfriendly Japanese government. JTI ranks third in world production, excluding the Chinese monopoly, and in Russia it is the absolute leader: it has 35% of the market. The company's assets include two factories in Yutes and the Leningrad region, they produce raw materials for tobacco production, and some of them are exported, says Maxim Korovi, the editor-in-chief of the Russian Tobacco News Agency: the average consumer will probably not notice changes in the quality or availability of products on the market - in this sense, most likely, nothing will change. Since JTI bought most of the materials already on the Russian market, and tobacco was always imported, but it was purchased in large quantities earlier - most likely, everything will pass unscathed. From the presidential order, that a company called "Industrial Assets" left the shares of JTI. There are several of these on the market, and the largest are two. The beneficiary of the first company from Vsevolozhsk, according to RBC, is businessman Taimuraz Bolloev, former head of Baltika and founder of BTK Group. The second Moscow-based company, previously called C8 Industrial Properties, was part of S8 Capital Holding. JTI became the first tobacco giant to have its ruined assets placed under temporary administration. Not the first company at all. At various times it was the Baltic, Ocean, Nestlé, Metro Cash and President, Leroy Merlin.
