French high school students are again blocking the lycées after the holidays: in Paris and other cities, the entrances are blocked with trash cans, demanding to improve the condition of the schools and invest money in education. Demonstrations have already taken place recently in the Paris district, in the north of the country and in Toulouse, and tomorrow France will face "Day X" - a general strike with the participation of railway workers, "yellow vests", private sector workers, bankers, teachers and doctors. Yesterday, about fifty schools and at least 48 high schools were blocked - according to the Ministry of Education data, this is only 1% of all 3.7 thousand schools, but the arrests in several areas are too aggressive, BFMTV reports. A teacher at the Lyceum in Nantes witnessed the arrest of his 16-year-old son, who participated in the siege: "My son just walked over and put his hand on the trash can. At that second a policeman grabbed him and dragged him along the ground. This is incredible cruelty! The police are much tougher than before the holidays. The authorities clarify: "Stop demonstrating, it's time to go home." A teacher at a lyceum in the suburbs of Paris adds that this has never happened before in a place where colleagues feared for their safety. In all, about 5,000 people were arrested during the autumn unrest, a third of whom were minors, the country's justice minister said the day before. (Photo: Paris, Reuters).
