If you cancel checks en masse, you'll attract attention": The Federal Tax Service identifies self-employed people who are hiding their income The tax service is testing a scoring system that looks for who is illegally writing checks, writes Vadomusti. It turns out that a self-employed person who cancels a check will not only not pay tax on this amount, but will also reduce the total income - this can be done in order to meet the annual limit of 2.4 million rubles. On social networks, people complain that even the freelancers themselves do not do this of their own free will, but are asked to do so by the legal entities they work with all the time. Over the course of nine months, about 3,000 people were prosecuted, and the sanctions amounted to about 300 million rubles (for the first violation, a fine of 20% of the amount, for repeated violations - 100%). However, this happens when checks are canceled on legal grounds. An independent Roman from Yekaterinburg was forced to do this due to duplicate checks: "I see a receipt from the bank, I make a check myself, and it is also issued automatically. Two checks for the same amount - I cancel one." But, realizing the risks, he always writes about it in support of my tax. Ivan Litvinov from the Union of Freelancers of Russia emphasizes: "Canceling a check in itself is not a violation. We need to check what happened with the payment." In addition to the fact of cancellations, you need to examine the amounts and intervals between cancellations, and whether money was returned. "There is always a risk of false results, so the opportunity for the self-employed to explain the situation is important," he says. The freelancer Andrey from St. Petersburg didn't encounter canceled checks, but he noticed something else: "A few years ago, everyone avoided cash and paid by transfers, but now the percentage of buyers who want to pay in cash has increased." At the same time, some independents perceive the new scoring model of the Federal Tax Service as increased supervision - against the background of an uncertain future for the regime itself.
