The use of VPNs and disappearing messages in instant messages became an argument in justifying the arrest request, HRC member Eva Marcheva told Mazerka. Traditionally, the investigation refers to the seriousness of the crime, the risk of escape or pressure on the participants in the process, but now a new argument has appeared. "The story that they see conspiracy methods in the fact that a person uses a VPN, messages disappear, that he has hidden connections is not only something new, but also a signal to society," Marcheva said. According to her, many people enable the automatic deletion of messages in order not to overload the phone's memory, but such use of instant messages can be interpreted as a sign of a conspiracy.
