Microsoft immediately lays off a quarter of its staff, i.e. about 60 thousand workers in return, the company promises assistance in finding a job, health insurance and compensation in the amount of 2 to 9 salaries. The corporation wants to reduce labor costs and invest in data centers and AI infrastructure. Microsoft is reducing its workforce starting in 2022.
