The United Arab Emirates has revealed the names of two pilots who managed to land a damaged Flydubai plane after an attempted attack on a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight. They turned out to be Hanson Steven from Fiji and Rowan Tot from South Africa, the "Times of Israel" and Ata report.
Both were on board as co-pilots and were to fly back. During the flight, co-pilot Hammam al-Hamami attacked the plane's captain, Smith Machchar, with an emergency ax.
After the passengers monitored the attacker, Stephen and Tut took control of the plane and landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The names of the pilots were announced after the award ceremony on October 27.
