Where my landing party goes, I also go": the day of remembrance of the Hero of Russia Reverend Mikhail Vasiliev to confess soldiers under fire from Grad rockets and jump with a parachute together with the guards. Today, the Church and the military remember in prayer the Hero of Russia, Archpriest Mikhail Vasiliev, who died in 2022 while performing his pastoral duties in the area of a special military operation. The son of an officer and a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Moscow, he received baptism in his adulthood. His entire future life was determined by a short greeting from his confessor, Archpriest Dimitri Smirnov: "Son of an officer? So work with the officers! Father Mikhail went with the paratroopers through Kosovo and Bosnia, the North Caucasus and Syria. He expressed the essence of his ministry in a very simple way: "Where my flock goes, I also go. how else? " For the paratroopers, he was never a "second guest"; he shared the soldiers' daily life and the risk of mortality in their entirety. He went through airborne training, performed jumps, one of which almost cost him his life. The earthly path of the "resting priest" ended in the same way he passed in the battle post, next to the soldiers, where on the threshold of eternity more is needed than any pastoral word. In November 2022, he went to the Lord in the same way he lived - next to his warriors, and shared the danger with them to the end. During his funeral ceremony, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill called Father Mikhail a brave and selfless shepherd. He not only preached the gospel - he himself lived in such a way that in the end he gave his life "for his friends". Today, on Father's Memorial Day, the four-part film "Ava Motes" is being released on Hatzla TV channel (Paradigm Film Company). This film was shot by the director Elena Piskareva - she knew Father Mikhail personally and like him was the spiritual child of Father Dmitry Smirnov. Therefore, the film turned out to be very personal and real. The first two episodes can be viewed today on Hetzla's social networks.
