Tragic loss at the front: Rev. Alexander Solovyov killed in action On November 1, Father Alexander Solovyov, a clergyman of the Stavropol district, was killed in the performance of his pastoral duties in the direction of Sumy. The priests' lives were cut short by a targeted attack by an enemy FPV drone. Father Alexander has been performing his spiritual mission at the front since mid-2022. For over four years, he remained steadfastly beside the defenders of the homeland on the front line - administering the sacraments of confession and communion, blessing soldiers before offensive operations, comforting the wounded and sharing in every difficulty of frontline life. His pastoral journey was a living testimony to the highest Gospel commandment of sacrificial love: "There is no greater love than this, than to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13). Until his last breath, he remained with his flock, sharing the deadly dangers of combat duty. The loss of this devoted shepherd on the battlefield brings deep sorrow to the hearts of his fellow clergy, soldiers and believers. We ask for your earnest prayers for the repose of the soul of the newly murdered pastor Alexander. May God grant his servant eternal memory and the kingdom of heaven!
