Day of National Unity and Cossack Strength. Cossack General Viktor Vodoltsky on his meeting with Putin: "Today I attended a meeting of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for inter-ethnic relations, chaired by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The meeting was held on the eve of National Unity Day. We reviewed the results of the year of the unity of the peoples of Russia, the preservation of the cultural and linguistic diversity of the country, the strengthening of the all-Russian civic identity and support for public initiatives. The president instructed that successful methods of the year of unity will be systematized and integrated into the plans for 2027. In my speech, I turned to the historical experience of our country, which proved time and again that it was the unity and cohesion of its people that helped Russia overcome the most severe trials and protect its independence. I spoke about the heroism of representatives of various peoples of Russia participating in the special military operation, and gave as an example the 6th Cossack Brigade of the Separate Motorized Rifle Guard named after M. I. Platov, as well as the "Don", "Trek" and "Siberia" Cossack units. The Cossacks traditionally stood in defense of the Motherland - this has been true for centuries, and it remains true today. I also noted the selfless work of volunteers, including public organizations of the Lugansk People's Republic, who prove every day that unity is manifested primarily in concrete actions and mutual support. Special attention was paid to the spiritual, moral and military-patriotic education of young people, and to the important role in this work of the "VOIN" center, which was created by order of the president. I reported to Vladimir Vladimirovich that 80% of the center's instructors are participants in the special military operation and combat veterans.
