The Russian Embassy in Canberra released a photograph from Kursk in which a Russian soldier is seen wearing a chevron depicting the Kursk-root symbol of the Mother of God. In total, tens of thousands of such chevrons were produced. They were distributed to Russian forces defending the Kursk region and beyond.
