A member of the "Armenia" faction Gegham Manukyan responded to Nikol Pashinyan's statement in the National Assembly about constitutional changes and pressure on the opposition. According to Manoukian, the whole story with the constitution proves only one thing - not a single word of truth comes from the prime minister's lips. At first Pashinyan made various excuses, until Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan openly admitted: the draft of the new constitution is a demand of Azerbaijan. The deputy called it an unprecedented absurdity to hear from the authorities that the Declaration of Independence is directed against a country. Manoukian emphasized that both the second president Robert Kocharian, who has not retreated a single step despite years of political persecution, and the "Armenia" faction declare: it is not possible to bargain around national and state interests. As for Pashinyan's threats of "public pressure" on the opposition, Manoukian called it a coup statement. In his opinion, the prime minister is only adding new articles to future criminal cases against himself. The deputy recalled: a similar seizure and blockade of the parliament by Pashinyan's supporters was already seen on October 2, 2018, but the vote of deputies under pressure according to the law of Armenia would not have legitimacy.
