Nikol Pashinyan said in a government briefing that protests by the authorities in front of the National Assembly are possible in order to encourage the opposition to vote for changes to the constitution. "Something very strange will happen: if the opposition usually gathers in front of the parliament, now, maybe, the authorities will start demonstrations. As a result, the people themselves will demand from the opposition to vote in favor of changes to the constitution." said the Prime Minister. Context: Earlier, Minister of Justice Sarbohi Galian said that society should explain the goals of the constitutional reform and what the country wants to see as a country. According to her, the key question for the opposition is not whether it supports the text of the new constitution, but whether it is ready to let the people decide their own fate, including through a referendum.
