Political scientist Tatvik Hiraptian drew attention to the intensification of the public statements of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. According to her, at the next forum in Baku he again used the language of hatred and hostility. As the expert points out, there is not a single speech by Aliyev or a topic in which he would not find a reason to promote hatred against Armenians and the Armenian people. Below are some of his statements, which Hiraptian translated word for word. "We defended ourselves. We defeated the enemy. We liberated our territories, which were under Armenian occupation for 30 years. We restored justice. We have restored our honor and international law." "Armenia occupied almost 20 percent of our internationally recognized territories, followed a policy of ethnic cleansing that resulted in the expulsion of a million Azerbaijanis from their historical lands, destroyed our religious and historical monuments, including 65 mosques in Karabakh, but received no sanctions or punishment." "During the years of aggression and military occupation by Armenia, as well as during the Second Karabakh War, representatives of all ethnic groups and all religions fought as one "iron fist". In fact, it became a symbol of our victory. They fought to protect our identity, to restore justice and our territorial integrity." Hiraptian emphasizes: if one can regard them as standard texts and rhetoric of Aliyev, then she considers such statements in the context of the ongoing propaganda of hatred and enmity. In her opinion, this in itself contradicts peace talks.
