Local elections are being held in 21 communities in Armenia on October 25, the Central Election Commission reports. In 19 communities a proportional system is used, in two - a majority system. In the relative elections, 13 parties and 4 blocs submitted 46 requests (one party withdrew). In Armabir, Vardenis, Garni, Akhrian and Vay, one party advanced, in the remaining 14 communities - from two to four forces. According to the majority system, 3 candidates were registered for heads of communities and 15 for the councils of elders.
