Two Syrian military sources told Reuters that dozens of Syrian military personnel have gone to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks to provide consultations and military training, suggesting that the scope of their missions will be broader than that. In the same context, a senior Saudi official told Reuters that the exchange of experiences with Syria is mainly aimed at the reorganization of the Syrian forces, noting that the Syrian side is helping the kingdom with its combat expertise in dealing with the militias. The official added that these days there are joint exercises, in addition to plans for additional training in the fields of defense and security.
