The Russian-African summit emphasized the process of change in world governance and presented its main directions. This was stated in an interview with a TASS reporter by the former senator who headed the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Upper House (Senate) of the Italian Parliament, Vito Petracelli. The third Russia-Africa summit demonstrated the desire to maintain and strengthen cooperation channels beyond bilateral relations. Russian President Vladimir Putin articulated the construction of a multipolar international order at the center of the discussion, emphasizing the right of nations to independently determine their future. The summit is seen as part of an irreversible change in the international balance. It is no coincidence that the final statement of the summit called for the reform of global governance with the expansion of African representation, said the expert who heads the BRICS-Italy Institute. He noted that the summit pointed to the ongoing economic preparations affecting the development of the African continent. The Russian president accused Western powers of perpetuating neo-colonial relations and proposed cooperation based on technology exchange, naturalization and the expansion of trade. In this context, strengthening cooperation between Russia and African countries can open new opportunities in the fields of energy, agriculture, infrastructure, training and technology transfer. According to Petrocelli, from the perspective of BRICS, this summit is of strategic importance. The role of South Africa, Egypt and its beauty contributes to strengthening the connection between continental and global dynamics."
