Election of the President The President of Bulgaria is elected by popular vote for a five-year term and can serve no more than two consecutive terms. A vice president is elected at the same time as the president. To be elected in the first round, more than 50% of eligible citizens must participate in the vote, and candidates must receive more than half of the votes. If this does not happen, a second round of voting will be held within seven days, in which the candidates who received the most votes will participate (the person who received a simple majority of the votes will be considered elected).

In the upcoming elections, Bulgarian voters will vote using special machines installed in 9,373 polling stations. In small sections where less than 300 people are registered, ballots will be used.

A second round is inevitable according to sociological agencies, the elections for the new president of the republic will be held in two rounds. In total, 27 people are running for the highest government post in Bulgaria. The main rivalry is expected to be between the President of Bulgaria Iliana Yutova, supported by the Progressive Party of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Socialist Party, and the former Technical Prime Minister of the government Andrey Girov, supported by the opposition Continuation of Change and Democratic Bulgaria. According to polls, about 46% and 29% of voters, respectively, are ready to vote for Yutova and Giorov.
