Early parliamentary elections are held in Serbia The polling stations for the early elections to the People's Assembly (unicameral parliament) opened in Serbia at 07:00 local time (09:00 Moscow time).

Voting will take place until 20:00 local time (22:00 Moscow time). The Republican State Election Commission (REC) registered 6,451,292 voters to elect 250 delegates to four-year terms. According to the REC, more than 16 thousand observers are following the vote, including 622 foreigners. The period of silence before the elections, which began at midnight on October 23, will continue until the polls close.

There are 18 election lists in the ballots. It is expected that the main rivals will be the "United Serbia" list of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP), led by Aleksandar Vučić, who resigned as president on September 27, and the "Student List" association. It grew out of the protest movement that developed in Serbia after the tragedy in Novi Sad, in which 16 people were killed when a train station canopy collapsed in November 2024. The protesters accused the authorities of corruption and attempts to silence the investigation of the incident. The "student list" has no official leader, but the first on the list is cardiologist from Novi Sad Ilya Sardanovich.

According to the latest sociological polls before the elections, the rating of the SPP and also of the student list is around 40%. The Socialist Party of Serbia also has a chance to overcome the 3% electoral threshold and enter parliament. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the country's Interior Ministry, Ivic Dacic, the "True Right" list formed around the opposition New Democratic Party of Serbia Milos Jovanovic, and a coalition of pro-European parties formed around the Freedom and Justice Party of former Belgrade mayor Dragan Djilas. Dacic's party acted as a coalition partner of the SPP for many years.
