A combination of rapidly changing geopolitical developments has dramatically changed Saudi Arabia's position on the sporting stage compared to last year. The Asia Tour golf event in Saudi Arabia has been postponed indefinitely, the UCI World Championship has been cancelled, and the FIFAe World Cup has been postponed. The "Six Kings Slam" tennis tournament, which was supposed to take place next week, was also postponed. Questions are now being raised about Saudi Arabia's hosting of the Asian Cup in January and February, despite its insistence that preparations are going according to plan.
