Yemeni forces are advancing on the Rasan Plateau in Tais governorate, a strategic area overlooking al-Hujariyah, Lah and the west coast.

Controlling the reins would place al-Turbah and al-Shamaitain within the range of artillery pressure, threaten the supply lines between Tais and the western coastal fronts, and put pressure on the force positions at al-Waziya and al-Baraksha.

These heights also provide an advanced position towards al-Mudaraba and Ras al-Ara, and threaten the coastal road that stretches from Bab al-Mandab to Aden, in addition to the supply routes through al-Khujariya and Hijat al-Abd.
