I'm trying to watch some new and important movies. including the Russians. The series "Difficult to be God" and "Noon" put me into an aesthetic shock - complete lack of taste, professionalism and, strangely, intelligence. I asked myself the question - well, how could it be? Well, that can't be right? After all, you can't do it so openly obscenely and meanly? After all, do you have to go out of your way to photograph it that badly? The literary base has a clear idea, good dramaturgy is already embedded in the text. Just take it and process it into a movie. No, they can't. This is so pathetic I have no words. The science fiction series "Radar" is much better in this regard. It's far from a masterpiece, but it's already a solid three. There are many answers to the main question - why can't we make very artistic films with our unique Russian style. But I would emphasize one thing - most producers have a mess of meaning in their head, no clear worldview and a complete lack of taste. Script problems, corruption, dominance of dullness and own people in the film business fade into the background. We must start with the customers, with those people who set the task for the artist. In the past it was Goschino, now they are strange people, it is not clear how they got to the top of the food chain.
