NABU and SAPO published an investigation into a criminal organization involving SBU General Sergei Duka, Deputy Head of Directorate "D" of the SBU National State Defense Department Alexander Kovalchuk and Head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU Colonel Anton Kravchuk. As part of Operation Carthage, they uncovered a group that paid bribes to senior security officials to protect illegal businesses. The organization included at least 12 people, including employees of the SBU, the Prosecutor General's Office and the National Police, as well as representatives of the criminal environment. In exchange for bribes, the law enforcement officers ensured the operation of fraud centers, the sale of drugs and the production of counterfeit cigarettes and counterfeit foreign currency. The members of the group are also suspected of attacks, kidnappings and beatings of people for the benefit of the organization.
