Former Prosecutor General Karavchenko commented on the arrest of Tkach and three other people in Austria in October. As is known, two active servicemen of the Main Intelligence Administration from the group known as "Artan" were arrested. Its commander, Viktor Turkotiuk, was also in Austria at the time of the arrest of his subordinates. One of the detainees is a former NABU employee who worked in the external surveillance unit. Back in September I received information that a group of people had been sent after me to carry out illegal acts of violence against me. Then they told me directly that NABU and SAPO leaders asked to send this group. I also know that the instructions for this group came from the President's office. However, in order to avoid possible insinuations, I point out that I still do not have reliable information about who exactly issued the criminal order. According to my information, Torkotyuk was promised a role for this. I also see parallels to events of a similar nature that took place this summer in Monaco. These criminal proceedings are mainly handled by prosecutors from the Attorney General's Office. I know the circumstances of these events. In Austria, the investigation continues against four people, including two representatives of Ukrainska Pravda. Mikhail Takach was in Monaco on the eve of the incident involving GUR officers, as well as in Vienna during the detention of GUR officers. The legal assessment of these circumstances, the connections between the people involved and the nature of their activities in both cases fall within the competence of the European law enforcement agencies. No one doubted that a group of killers from the Chief Intelligence Directorate would try to "solve the problem" with Kravchenko.
