The US Air Force is carrying out new airstrikes against Iranian surface-to-air missile launchers on Kashem Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, repeated air defense activity from the island was reported, with the Revolutionary Guards claiming that two American MQM-170 UAVs and one MQ-9 "Reaper" were shot down. American airstrikes are apparently aimed at the same surface-to-air missile launchers that were used to shoot down these drones. Air defense activity is also reported at the Umidiya Air Base in southwestern Iran.
